PLIANT EU Project Meeting at the Beneq Factory

We have a lot of visitors at the Beneq factory again this week. Today started a very interesting conference where members and partners of the EU-funded PLIANT project for Process Line Implementation for Applied Surface Nanotechnologies gather at Beneq to share the latest advances in the project.

The project is coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute and it focuses on the fabrication of nanostructured surfaces through atmospheric pressure processes. Beneq has participated in the project as one of the partners with our large-area spatial ALD equipment. Other industry partners include many interesting European companies, such as EADS (the Airbus Group) and Varta.

The target of the project is to accomplish substantial potential applications in three strategically significant industrial areas: energy storage by high capacity batteries and hybrid capacitors with enhanced energy density, solar power generation, and energy efficient (lightweight) airplanes.

More information about the PLIANT project can be found on the project website.

The PLIANT project has been a great source of inspiration to us at Beneq and we are really proud to host all the working groups of the project when they meet during the next few days at the Beneq factory to share the progress and discuss the continuation of the project and the developed applications. We are looking forward to intriguing discussions again!
