Electrifying the automotive market

Electric vehicles (EV), hybrid cars, plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) are slowly gaining popularity, but the market is still fairly small.

If you are a vehicle manufacturer and/or a new entrant to the EV market, you still have time to challenge the currently popular hybrids and EVs such as BMW i3, Toyota Prius, Volvo XC60, Nissan Leaf, and Tesla family.

Differentation with design

There seems to be no clear winner for mass-market EV design yet, and powertrain designs are still not uniform. Carmakers also need to identify key differentiators, and, unlike internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, driving performance is not a differentiator. The current EVs already deliver high performance.

Exterior design and interior space, however are key differentiators. With EVs, designers and engineers have more freedom to design outside the ICE box.

New vehicle design thinking with in-glass displays

With transparent Lumineq® in-glass laminated displays, you are free to design vehicle windows to display information. And when the information is not needed, the display simply disappears.

Take EV and plug-in hybrid vehicle design thinking further by making information available where it's needed - for example side windows are perfect for displaying battery charging status and other relevant information.

At Lumineq, we have several projects in the transportation, defense, marine and aeronautics markets where we are working on new display concepts for all types of vehicles.

Our integrated displays are excellent for heavy duty vehicles such as agricultural tractors for displaying important information to operators without the display's taking up space in already cramped surroundings.

Tough TFEL displays for outdoor use

Our tough thin film electroluminescent (TFEL) displays are made to last in even the roughest and most extreme conditions, and that's why they are perfect for outdoor use.

Freezing temperatures, humidity, rain and scorching heat do not stop our TFEL displays from displaying information clearly and visibly.
