A Thinner World with Beneq

The world is getting thinner. The never-ending quest to miniaturize and digitalize everything requires innovative technologies that allow us to gain competitive advantage while saving scarce resources. Atomic Layer Deposition, ALD, is such a technology.

Beneq® is a leading supplier of Atomic Layer Deposition equipment and thin film coating services, and the world’s premier manufacturer of thin film electroluminescent displays.

Beneq ALD coatings are extremely thin, pinhole-free and totally conformal. They enable longer product life cycles and wiser use of raw materials.

Beneq thin film equipment is used for creating optical coatings, protective barriers, passivation layers and anti-corrosion solutions in spaces where other coating methods cannot be applied.

If you coated a full-size football field with Beneq’s nCLEAR moisture barrier, which is more commonly used for OLED encapsulation, less than a drop of water would infiltrate the whole surface in a day. That makes the ultra-thin ALD coating a billion times better a moisture barrier than the typical alternatives on the market.

You name, we coat it

We have implemented more industrial ALD applications than any other company.

The Beneq factory is the Home of ALD. It is where atomic layer deposition was applied in industrial production for the first time. Today, it is the largest ALD-dedicated production facility in the world. Take a factory tour here to see what it looks like from the inside.

Beneq’s production capacity and 30 years of ALD experience are also available without equipment investments through our complete ALD service solution, Thin as a Service™, which combines our Development Services and Coating Services.

The application examples range from encapsulation of flexible electronics, surface passivation of solar cells, moisture barriers of x-ray machines and anti-tarnish treatment of jewelry to RFID tags, smart packaging, optical components, engine parts and LED efficiency improvements.

Displays for Extreme Conditions

Beneq’s rugged, transparent and customized Lumineq displays, enabled by atomic layer deposition, are the display of choice for extreme conditions.

The black and yellow colors of our Lumineq TFEL displays are known as the Colors of Reliability™. Lumineq displays have been serving for years on end without failing in demanding applications on land, at sea and in the air. The fully transparent Lumineq TASEL® displays are the most transparent displays on the market. They combine superior reliability with a unique see-through viewing experience.

Lumineq displays are also available in custom shapes and sizes. You can design your own displays and still get all the benefits of Beneq’s proven and robust  display technology. If you can draw it, we can make it!

Turning Innovations into Success

We are known for our ability to turn high technology into successful industrial applications. We constantly find new use cases for thin films, from new material structures to completely new innovative products, but we also want to make sure that the solutions can be implemented in mass production. Our goal is to make our customers’ products function better.

There is a thin solution for every challenge. Let’s find it together.
